He last cast a vote on March 5. He has missed nearly a hundred since. His party says he sounds fine on the phone. Neighbors haven't seen him in months. Neither has any reporter.
This story just reminded me of Republican Rep. Kay Granger out of Texas in 2023 through 2024. She was missing for about 6 months and nobody in either party so much as mentioned the fact. When local reporters in Texas finally noticed and went to her office, they said it was basically closed up.
Eventually, they made contact with one of her staff who admitted that she was residing in the memory care wing of a nursing home in Texas. She "finished" out the remainder of her term from that home.
Yeah, that's a good article summarizing her story. I remember when it first broke, the journalists were saying that when they eventually tracked her down at the assisted living home, they showed up and the employees were like, “oh yeah, she's been living here for a while".
Interestingly, considering how often we're led to believe that the two parties in Congress can't work together on anything, when it comes to covering for each other's "missing” members, sexual abuse, and insider trading, the two parties somehow get along swimmingly.

Great point that I’ll follow up with by doing some research. Thanks.

Certainly makes you wonder, don't it?
I appreciate the reminder!😘
