What has really fucked me off for quite some time now (well one of about 10,000 different outrages), is that the Biden admin had almost 2.5 months to prepare for the inevitable crime spree of the incoming criminal cabal. Nevermind the fact that they and Harris did nothing to even attempt to recount the votes in a single swing state (as if Trump actually won them all 🙄), but I have basically zero faith that they thought to back everything up that they could. The most infuriating part though, is that BOTH parties have sat back and done jack shit as DOGE, the Heritage Foundation, Trump, and likely Russia at this point, have openly hijacked our entire goddamn govt and stolen all of our data. Anyways, oh well now....
When you say both parties haven't done anything. this isn't true my rep refused and Jamie Raskin are serving and cataloging things that they investigate and sue to reverse. My AG dem phil weiser in Colorado has sued the administration to get records on why grants specifically going to Colorado were stopped because the governor wouldn't release tina peters. The lawsuit is ongoing. There hare hundreds of examples of Dems doing what they can. They don't hold the majority though so what else would you suggest.
I know that there are some Democrats, at certain levels, that are fighting back in some ways. Specifically, what I'm referring to in my original comment when I stated that both parties have basically done jack shit, is with regards to the biggest injustices, crimes, and treason that have been destroying the few remaining pillars of our democracy that we have left.
That's great that Raskin and a select few others are recording these crimes so they can eventually investigate. However, those investigations won't mean shit if the rule of law no longer exists, and if the courts that would oversee those prosecutions are packed full of fascists. With each passing day that goes by now, this regime further dismantles and destroys every govt institution, law, norm, policy, and guardrail that our nation has built over the last 250 years. The Democrats hold essentially 49% of the power in our legislative branch and yet they're acting like they hold 4%.
I am unfortunately fully aware of just how broken our system currently is and how this impacts the ability of the minority to govern effectively. However, desperate times call for desperate measures, and there is no more desperate moment than this one right now. The half-ass, status quo response that we have witnessed from the Democratic party as a whole, in my opinion, has been pathetic. Their party messaging, to this day, has been pathetic. Their insistence on putting more money and effort into defeating the true and genuine progressive candidates that we are trying to elevate, than the fascists we are trying to defeat, is pathetic. The way they sat back and have done nothing while DOGE unlawfully and unconstitutionally broke into, compromised, modified, and stole the data inside almost every govt institution we have, including in states around the country, has been pathetic. The way they couldn't even round up a bunch of Capitol police and force them to break down the goddamn doors of every federal institution and concentration camp that they were unlawfully blocked from entering, even as blatant crimes were being committed inside, was and is pathetic.
Please understand though, I am fully well aware that the ENTIRE Republican party has abandoned every pretense of giving a shit about the Constitution, the rule of law, the American experiment, and basic human decency. I will never vote for any Republican for the remainder of time I have left in this realm of existence, for those very reasons. I will vote for whoever the least corrupt, least owned, most genuine Democratic candidate is that I have to vote for, even in cases (for the immediate future) where the party candidate ends up sucking overall. All of that said however, I will still call out every single Democrat, and the party as a whole, so long as they continue to suck as well.
I wish things were so simple that I could just say Democrat = good, Republican = evil, but we can no longer afford to play those games anymore...
